Barcelona clubbers get ready for the next edition of Checkpoint this weekend, one of the city’s must go to parties!
With a reputation for being a concept that doesn’t disappoint, I think it’s fair to say that when Checkpoint is behind an event, you are not only gonna hear some sick tunes but are also bound to have a great night out. This time, the crew behind it all will be pushing boundaries once again by taking their party to an amazing venue location named, The Backyard Villa, an old school but modernist building with a history dating back to 1906. Join them there this Saturday (November 23rd) from 18:00 onwards to enjoy 12 hours of relentlessly groovy beats in the company of one of the city’s most eclectic audiences.
The Backyard Villa is an isolated but spacious venue near the Pedralbes suburb of Barcelona that has numerous floors, an outdoor garden area, and a terrace that faces Gaudi’s stable views, an iconic sight of the Catalan capital. As symbolic as it may be for its history, the venue this weekend will be transformed into an avant-guard playground with 2 dance areas, featuring sets from Anthea, Baraso, LUIS MALON live, Lumière and Sonodab in Room 1, alongside Clock Poets, Brian Topham, Rick Maia, Rufo and Sampol in Room 2.
If you have been to a Checkpoint party before then you know that there is much more to these events than just hearing great electronic music. The crew behind it all are also keen art lovers who always like to support the work of local artists. This time you can catch installations by Art avenue & Sheena Is, alongside Alejandra Betancourth (Mora Salvaje).
If you are living in Barcelona or just passing through this weekend, then think no more, take our advice, and consider your Saturday plans sorted. Get yourself down to the Backyard Villa and enjoy the vibes of cutting edge underground house and techno music, mixed with a carefree crowd, and sprinkled with a dash of visionary artwork.
Clubbers! You really can’t go wrong with this one.
