Sónar will take place on 18, 19, 20 JULY 2019
The first time I went to Sónar was in 2010 and I remember it well. The Chemical Brothers were headlining and Sandwell District closed the whole festival with a thumping industrial techno set. There was an arena full of ravers going to town with their dance moves vibing to an atmosphere of absolute euphoria that whispered: “we are all in this together”. In fact, this was the first time I had been to Barcelona and it was then where I realised that I have to live in this city one day…. which is now a reality. Thanks Sónar 2010 for that life-changing insight!
Every year, for 1 weekend in the summer, usually in June however this year in July, Barcelona is filled with dedicated electronic music fans who descend on the sexy seaside city to dance some carefree days away under the beautiful sun filled blue skies at Sónar festival.

Sónar is more than just a pure music event. Since its creation, it has established some important values which are defined by the connection between technology and creativity. Since 2013, the team have set up a fringe project called, Sónar+D, which is an international congress that explores how creativity is changing our present and imagining new futures. Sónar+D runs in collaboration with researchers, innovators and business leaders and involves many leading artists, creative technologists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, thinkers, scientists and entrepreneurs who participate in a “carefully commissioned program” and network in a very inspirational atmosphere.
