Berlin airport will become a location for techno events
Although even in Germany they are facing some serious delays, Berlin Tegel airport is destined to close soon, replaced by Berlin Brandenburg airport. In its place should rise a large music pole dedicated to electronic music.
The newspaper “Der Tagesspiegel” writes that the Club Commission of the German capital (the association that represents the Berlin clubs and protects their interests) is about to formalize the candidacy of the airport as a festival location that can also accommodate a new complex of clubs. Just in these days, it reads, some experts appointed by the administration of the capital are assessing the suitability of the structure to this ambitious project. It seems that the answers have already been positive as the airport spaces such as the control tower and the soundproofed hangars, where the engine tests are carried out, appeared to be ideal for the project.
Once again, Berlin is at the forefront of musical and architectural themes, which are becoming more and more closely linked, with a view to the conscious and structured conversion of large areas that would otherwise be left to their own devices.
